Direct Fast Dye Direct Blue 199
Physical and Chemical Properties
Direct Blue 199 is highly soluble in hot water and can be dissolved in cold water. The aqueous solution presents a vivid emerald blue color; it is insoluble in organic solvents and dissolves quickly without precipitation or agglomeration.
Acid-base reaction: The aqueous solution is stable and resistant to neutral and weakly alkaline environments; it slightly changes color upon contact with strong acid, and returns to its original color after dilution; it has strong acid-base adaptability and wide process compatibility.
Dyeing characteristics: Direct Blue 199 has excellent affinity for cellulose fibers such as cotton, viscose, and linen; the dyeing rate is optimal at 90–100°C, with good uniformity and full color deposition; the color is pure, bright, and greenish-blue, with transparent color; it has strong compatibility and is suitable for color matching and color adjustment, with stable color and no deviation.
Core Advantages
Direct Blue 199 has excellent resistance to sunlight and a high resistance to fading; it has a superior color fastness due to its phthalocyanine structure; it has excellent solubility, suitable for continuous dyeing and intermittent dyeing of woven and knitted fabrics; it has low wastewater pressure and is friendly to low-salt formulations, suitable for environmentally friendly production; it is versatile and suitable for multiple industries such as leather, paper, and textiles, with high cost-effectiveness.
Performance Characteristics
Direct Blue 199 has a bright color: the emerald blue color is pure, bright, and of high saturation
Excellent resistance to sunlight: Sunlight fastness is 6–7 grades, stable in outdoor / sunlight environments
Direct dyeing: Direct Blue 199 has high affinity for cellulose fibers, requiring no mordanting
Good compatibility: Direct Blue 199 can be used for color matching and color adjustment with other direct dyes, with stable color
Widely applicable: It can be used in textiles, paper, leather, and other industries
Color Fastness Reference
Sunlight fastness: 6–7 grades; Water wash fastness: 3–4 grades; Dry rubbing fastness: 4 grades; Wet rubbing fastness: 2–3 grades; Good alkali stability
Application Scope
Dyeing and printing of cotton, viscose, artificial cotton, non-woven fabrics, and linen fibers; Direct Blue 199 is used for dyeing and printing of cotton, viscose, and linen fibers in home textiles, knitted fabrics, towels, and decorative fabrics in the green color series.
Coloring of packaging paper, art paper, special paper, and cultural paper; bright and transparent color.
Dyeing of leather, such as natural leather, artificial leather, shoe leather, and surface leather of luggage bags, with full color.
Other uses of Direct Blue 199: water-based industrial coloring, electro-aluminum, bamboo and wood fibers, water-based pigment color paste blending.
Key Process Points
Mixing: First, stir Direct Blue 199 with warm water to fully dissolve it, avoiding local agglomeration;
Dyeing pH: The best environment is neutral to weakly alkaline;
Dyeing temperature: Regular 95–100°C constant temperature dyeing to improve dyeing rate and fastness;
Post-treatment: For dark products, it is recommended to use a dedicated fixing agent to significantly improve water wash and sweat fastness.
