    Product Description

Disperse Blue 183 (Disperse Blue SE-2R) is a monoazo disperse dye with excellent build-up power, widely applied in deep shade dyeing and printing of polyester fabrics.

    Shade and Core Dyeing Properties

    - Standard Shade: Reddish navy blue / deep blue with distinct red undertone, a key blue component for dark shades among disperse dyes

    - Build-up Power: Excellent performance, ideal for single-shade and blending of deep navy, navy blue and blackish blue

    - Gentle dye uptake curve with great levelling and covering capacity, free from uneven dyeing defects

    - Classic three-primary blending formula widely adopted in factories:

Disperse Blue 183 SE-2R + Disperse Yellow SE-FL + Disperse Rubine SE-GFL, which can produce a full range of dark grey, navy and black shades

    - Single-dye application: Suitable for medium-to-deep blue and deep navy shades; rarely used alone for light shades

Colour Fastness (Standard depth 1.0% OWF on polyester, ISO Standards)

    Fastness Item

    Rating

    Light fastness (Xenon arc)

    Grade 5–6

    Washing fastness (40℃ staining)

    Grade 4–5

    Acid & alkaline perspiration fastness

    Grade 4–5

    Dry rubbing fastness

    Grade 4–5

    Wet rubbing fastness

    Grade 4

    Sublimation fastness (180℃/30s)

    Grade 4

Advantages: Stable sublimation and thermal migration performance, no colour migration during heat fixation for printing; balanced fastness performance for dark shades.

    Applicable Fibers & Dyeing Processes

    1. Applicable Substrates:

    - Primary substrates: Polyester (PET), polyester-cotton blend, polyester-spandex blend, micro-fine polyester

    - Secondary substrates: Triacetate fiber (low dye uptake)

    - Unsuitable substrates: Polyamide, diacetate fiber, acrylic fiber

    2. Mature Dyeing Processes:

    1) High-temperature high-pressure jig / rope dyeing (125–130℃)

Recommended dosage: 0.2%–4.0% OWF; top choice for dark shades with high exhaustion rate and good reproducibility

    2) Thermosol pad dyeing (190–210℃, 30–60s)

Compatible with one-bath thermosol process for polyester-cotton fabrics, mainstream for mass continuous dyeing

    3) Flat screen / rotary screen printing & digital disperse printing

Steaming fixation at 170–180℃; applicable for discharge printing in light shades

    4) Carrier dyeing: Moderate compatibility, only used in small amount for low-temperature processes

General Reduction Clearing Formula for After-treatment

Sodium dithionite 2g/L + Caustic soda flakes 1.5g/L + Disperse detergent 1g/L, hold at 75℃ for 15 minutes to remove loose surface color and improve rubbing fastness of dark fabrics.

    Product Advantages & Disadvantages

    Advantages:

    1. Monoazo structure delivers far stronger deep-shade build-up power than anthraquinone Disperse Blue 60, lowering production cost for deep navy shades

    2. Core blue component for three-primary blending, essential for dyeing black, dark grey and navy fabrics in textile mills

    3. Excellent thermal stability under thermosol and high-temperature dyeing conditions, no obvious colour shift after prolonged high-temperature holding

    4. Superior levelling and covering power, effectively preventing streaky unevenness on micro polyester and spandex fabrics

    5. Low white-ground staining during printing, suitable for disperse digital printing inks

    Disadvantages:

    1. Red undertone restricts its application in turquoise and lake blue shades, cannot replace anthraquinone brilliant blue dyes such as Disperse Blue 60

    2. Medium light fastness (Grade 5–6), inferior to anthraquinone Disperse Blue 60 (Grade 6–7)

    3. Only Grade 4 wet rubbing fastness; intensive reduction clearing is required for heavy dark fabrics

    4. Sensitive to pH value of dye bath; optimal dyeing pH range: 4.5–5.5, strong acid or alkali will reduce dye strength

    Industrial Application Fields

    1. Apparel: Workwear, school uniforms, sportswear, polyester-cotton denim, deep navy fashion garments, dark swimwear

    2. Home textiles: Blackout curtains, heavy sofa fabrics, dark printed bed linens, outdoor tent fabrics

    3. Industrial textiles: Polyester fabrics for automotive interiors, luggage woven tapes, industrial filter fabrics

    4. Printing industry: Disperse digital printing inks, flat screen discharge printing for dark shades.
