Product Description
Direct Orange 26 (Direct Orange S, C.I. 29150) is a water-soluble disazo direct dye with reddish-brown powder appearance, producing bright reddish orange shade on cotton and viscose fabrics.
It dissolves quickly in cold and hot water, featuring high dye uptake and outstanding discharge printing performance. Widely applied for dyeing & printing of cotton, rayon, silk, wool and blended textiles, as well as internal coloring of paper pulp and water-based leather tinting.
It works well under neutral to weakly alkaline dye baths; small dosage of Glauber’s salt can achieve deep shade. Available in 100%, 120%, 150% strength grades with consistent batch shade. Packed in 25kg sealed packages with 36-month shelf life. Its wet fastness is moderate, so cationic fixing agent is recommended for dark colors. It is sensitive to hard water, thus water softener is required during dyeing.

Physical Properties
● Appearance: Uniform reddish-brown powder
● Shade: Reddish orange when dyed on cotton and viscose
● Solubility: Solubility ≥10g/L at 80℃; easily soluble in hot water to form reddish orange-brown solution; slightly soluble in ethanol with golden orange tone
● Color change under acid & alkali conditions:
1.Turns bright red in concentrated sulfuric acid, and red-orange precipitate separates out after dilution;
2.Becomes orange-brown in strong alkaline solution, light golden yellow in dilute alkali;
3.Red precipitate separates out in concentrated hydrochloric acid.

Application Fields
1.Textile Industry
For dyeing and direct printing of cotton, viscose and rayon yarns & fabrics; applicable to silk, wool, vinylon, polyamide and various blended fabrics. It can be used alone or blended with yellow, red and brown dyes to adjust orange shade series. It features outstanding discharge performance and is widely used in printing.
2.Paper Industry
Internal coloring of wood pulp and waste paper pulp for wrapping paper and toilet paper with stable dye uptake.
3.Others: Water-based dyeing for leather, preparation of water-based color paste.
Key Dyeing Process Points
● Dye Bath pH: Better dye exhaustion effect under neutral to weakly alkaline conditions
● Exhaustion Agent: Glauber’s salt / sodium chloride can improve dye uptake, add salt in small batches several times
● Disadvantages: Moderate wet processing fastness. Dark shade finished fabrics are recommended to be treated with cationic fixing agent to enhance washing and wet rubbing fastness. It is sensitive to hard water, so water softener is suggested during dyeing.
Packaging, Storage & Transportation
Standard Package: 25kg woven bag / fiber drum / iron drum. Store hermetically in dry and ventilated place, keep away from strong oxidants and high-temperature heat sources. Shelf life: 36 months.
