    Product Description

Direct Orange 39 (also known as Direct Fast Orange GGL) is a stilbene-based direct dye with good light fastness. Bright golden-orange shade can be obtained by single-bath dyeing. It is widely applied for colouring cellulosic materials.

    Physical & Chemical Properties

Appearance: Orange-red to reddish-brown homogeneous powder. Solubility: Easily soluble in water; solubility approx. 50 g/L at 60℃, aqueous solution shows golden-orange to golden-brown colour. Slightly soluble in ethanol; practically insoluble in other organic solvents. Acid-alkali reaction: Dark-blue colour in concentrated sulfuric acid, turns golden-yellow upon dilution. Yellowish-olive-brown precipitate is formed with concentrated hydrochloric acid; orange-brown precipitate is formed with concentrated sodium hydroxide. Metal stability: Copper and iron ions have little influence on shade, showing excellent metal-ion stability. Thermal property: Optimum dyeing temperature: 75-85℃.

    Dyeing Properties

It has good affinity for cellulosic fibres with maximum adsorption at 80℃. Suitable for pad dyeing and jig dyeing, and can be used as ground colour for discharge printing with bright shade.

    Main Application Fields

Textile industry: Mainly used for dyeing cellulosic fibres such as cotton, viscose and rayon; also applicable for some blended fabrics. Other industries: Widely used for colouring paper and leather, as well as manufacturing ink and colour paste. Colour mixing application: It can be used alone for orange shades, or blended with other direct dyes to produce composite colours such as brown and coffee.

    Usage Method

Direct Orange 39 is an economical orange direct dye with good light fastness, mainly for dyeing cellulosic fibres like cotton and viscose.

    1. Key Dyeing Process Points

Dye characteristics: Good dye uptake; slightly sensitive to hard water. Maximum affinity is achieved at 80℃. Operation points: Adopt neutral-weak alkaline dye bath. Raise temperature gradually, add sodium chloride or sodium sulphate in portions for exhaustion. Water softener is recommended to avoid colour spots and precipitation. Fastness improvement: Post-treatment with fixing agent is recommended after dyeing, which can greatly enhance soaping fastness and wet rubbing fastness.

    2. Application Scope

Textiles: Besides cotton and viscose, it is suitable for pad dyeing and jig dyeing processes. Other applications: Dyeing of paper and leather, preparation of colour paste and ink.

    Direct Orange 39 is a high-performance stilbene-based direct dye.
