High Quality Direct Dye Direct Violet 9

1.Solubility

Direct Violet 9 has good water solubility, with a solubility of approximately 6.23g/L at 20℃. Its aqueous solution is a bright red-violet color.

Direct Violet 9 is soluble in ethylene glycol ether, slightly soluble in ethanol, and insoluble in other organic solvents.

Dissolution suggestion: Stir to dissolve at room temperature or 50℃ warm water. Good compatibility.

2.Acid and Alkali Stability

Direct Fast Violet BK has moderate alkali resistance: stable at pH 7–10, prone to precipitation at pH > 11.

Water solution + concentrated hydrochloric acid: purple precipitate

Water solution + concentrated alkali: purple precipitate

Concentrated sulfuric acid: blue-green, purple precipitate after dilution

3.Dyeing Characteristics

Color light: Red-violet (blue-violet), bright and transparent, full tone

Affinity: Direct Fast Violet BK has strong affinity for cotton, viscose, linen, and non-woven fabrics

Dye uptake: Medium to high; Direct Violet 9 has good level dyeing properties and stable color light

Light fastness: 2 grades (average light fastness, use with caution for outdoor products)

Wash fastness: 1–2 grades

Dry rubbing fastness: 4 grades

Wet rubbing fastness: 3 grades

Advantages

Direct Violet 9 has a bright color light: pure red-violet, high color recognition in color matching

Direct Violet 9 has good water solubility: easily soluble in cold and hot water, convenient for dissolving, and less prone to caking

Moderate alkali resistance: suitable for pH ≤ 10 systems

Direct Fast Violet BK has high cost performance: lower price than lightfast dyes, suitable for regular coloring Limitations

Poor lightfastness: Only 2 grades of lightfastness, prone to fading when exposed to the sun for a long time.

Weak wet fastness of Direct Fast Violet BK: Prone to color loss during wet washing.

Limited by strong alkali: Precipitates when pH > 11, not suitable for strongly alkaline formulations.

1.Industrial coloring

Neutral / weakly alkaline car wash liquids, glass cleaners, laundry detergents: For red-purple hues, not recommended for strongly alkaline systems.

Direct Violet 9 is used for paper (colored packaging paper), leather, water-based color pastes, and bamboo and wood fiber coloring.

2.Textile dyeing

Light purple dyeing of cotton, viscose, linen, and blended fabrics.

Direct Fast Violet BK does not require mordants, has a simple process, and is suitable for low-cost dyeing.

Dissolving: Dissolve at room temperature or in 50°C warm water, stir evenly and filter.

Dosage: 3–6 parts per 10,000 (0.3–0.6g/kg), typically 4 parts per 10,000 for a bright purple hue.

pH control: Maintain pH at 8–10, avoid strongly alkaline environments.

Compatibility: Direct Violet 9 has good compatibility with nonionic / anionic surfactants.
