High Quality Fabric Dye Powder Direct Red 227
Basic Identification
Direct Red 227, also named Direct Rose FR, Direct Red D-7B, CAS No.12222-51-4. It is a triazine-modified disazo water-soluble direct dye, appearing as uniform purplish-red powder and producing bright bluish red shade on cotton and viscose fabrics.
It dissolves rapidly in cold and hot water, achieves optimal exhaustion under neutral to weakly acidic dye baths, and high dye uptake can be reached with small dosage of Glauber’s salt. Stable at 130℃ without agglomeration, suitable for one-bath high-temperature dyeing of polyester/cotton and polyester/viscose blends. It is also applied for printing of cotton & rayon, paper pulp coloring and water-based leather tinting.
It has light fastness Grade 4–5 and excellent washing fastness, while wet rubbing and water fastness are moderate. Cationic fixing agent is recommended for dark shades to improve wet fastness.

Fastness Properties on Cotton Fabrics (Medium Shade, Rating)
Application Fields
Key Dyeing Process Notes
● Dyeing medium: Neutral to weakly acidic condition facilitates exhaustion
● Exhaustion agent: Moderate dosage of Glauber’s salt achieves high dye uptake
● Disadvantage: Average wet fastness. Finished dark shade fabrics are suggested to be treated with fixing agent to enhance washing fastness.
