High Quality Textile Dye Direct Red 83

● Water Solubility: Direct Red 83 is highly soluble in water, forming magenta / bluish red aqueous solution. The optimal dissolving temperature is 25–60℃ under neutral condition (pH 6–8).

● Solvent Solubility: Soluble in ethanol (light purple) and ethylene glycol ethyl ether; slightly soluble in acetone; insoluble in non-polar solvents such as benzene and chloroform.

● Acid-Base Reaction Identification:

● Concentrated hydrochloric acid: Produces jujube red precipitate

● Concentrated NaOH: Produces wine red precipitate

● Concentrated sulfuric acid: Appears purplish black, turns orange to reddish brown after dilution.

● Stability: It is a copper complex direct dye with better light fastness than ordinary direct dyes. Its shade remains almost unchanged when encountering iron ions, and slightly bluer and darker when encountering copper ions.

1) Paper Making Industry (Main Application)

● Usage: Pulp dyeing and color matching for cultural paper, writing paper, packaging paper and specialty paper, presenting bright bluish red / ruby red shade.

● Advantages:

✅Excellent water solubility and fast dissolution, can be directly added to pulp for easy operation.

✅Strong affinity to cellulose, uniform coloring, good color fastness and stable performance in white water circulation.

✅Bright shade and pure blue tone, effectively upgrading paper grade.

✅Light fastness Grade 5–6, relatively high level among direct dyes, suitable for paper with sunlight resistance requirements.

● Application Method: Added at wet end (before beating or papermaking). Recommended dosage: 0.05%–0.5% based on oven-dried pulp. Optimal condition: pH 6–8, temperature 40–55℃.

2) Textile Industry

● Applicable Fibers: Cotton, viscose, artificial cotton, blended fibers (cotton/viscose blended with polyester and nylon).

● Dyeing Features: Good level dyeing property, excellent migration property and high dye uptake. It shows bluish ruby red shade with moderate color fastness: washing fastness Grade 2, dry rubbing fastness Grade 4–5, wet rubbing fastness Grade 3.

3) Other Applications

Leather dyeing, water-based ink, color paste and coating coloring.

● Storage: Store in cool, dry and ventilated place, keep away from moisture and direct sunlight. Shelf life: 18 months.

● Transportation: Classified as general chemical, non-dangerous goods. Avoid rain soaking and high temperature during transportation。
