Paper Direct Dye Direct Blue 15
Direct Lake Blue 5B corresponds to C.I. Direct Blue 15 in the dye index. It is a classic di-azo direct dye and is one of the main blue dyes currently in use. Product features
Solubility: Direct Lake Blue 5B is soluble in water and forms a red-bright blue solution. It is insoluble in organic solvents.
Acid-base reaction:
Direct Lake Blue 5B reacts with concentrated sulfuric acid to form a blue-green color, becomes red-bright blue after dilution, and turns into a red-bright gray solution when reacted with concentrated nitric acid.
When the aqueous solution of Direct Lake Blue 5B is added with concentrated hydrochloric acid, it forms red-bright blue precipitate. When added with sodium hydroxide solution, it forms a purple precipitate.
Dyeing characteristics: Direct Blue 15 is used for dyeing cellulose fibers. The dye has good absorption capacity. The affinity is the greatest at a temperature range of 80-100°C, and the fading resistance is good.
Strength specification: Common 100% specification. Application scope
Direct Blue 15 has a wide range of applications. Its main uses are as follows:
Textile printing and dyeing: The dyeing and printing of cellulose fibers such as cotton and viscose. Direct Blue 15 is used in the largest amount in viscose fabrics.
Paper dyeing: Direct Blue 15 can be used for coloring paper products such as cultural paper and packaging paper.
Leather dyeing: The coloring treatment of leather products.
Biological dyeing: Direct Lake Blue 5B can be used for dyeing laboratory biological samples.
Ink preparation: Direct Lake Blue 5B can be used to prepare blue ink.
Film: The coloring of film.
Pool cleaning: The dyeing for pool cleaning purposes. Usage Suggestions
Confirm compliance of application: Please confirm that your application scenario meets the safety requirements.
Pigmenting of paper is preferred: Pigmenting of paper is currently the most compliant industrial application for Direct Blue 5B. Good results can be achieved by operating according to the best process conditions.
Sample test for dyeing: Before batch production of Direct Blue 15, it is necessary to conduct sample testing to confirm that the color tone and intensity meet the requirements.
Stable process conditions: When using Direct Blue 5B for paper dyeing, fluctuations in parameters such as pulp fineness, temperature, and pH can affect the color. These parameters should be strictly controlled.
Color matching application
In addition to being used alone, Direct Blue 15 is often used in combination with the following direct dyes:
Direct Green B, Dark Green B, Chestnut Red GB, Dark Brown M, Copper Blue 2R
