    Product Description

Direct Yellow 24 (also known as Direct Yellow GR) is a benzidine-based disazo direct dye. Reddish-golden-yellow shade can be obtained by single-bath process.

    Physical & Chemical Properties

Appearance: Yellow to brownish-yellow homogeneous powder. Solubility: Freely soluble in hot water, aqueous solution shows reddish-golden-yellow colour. Slightly soluble in ethanol; practically insoluble in other organic solvents. Acid-alkali reaction: Orange-red colour in concentrated sulfuric acid, golden-yellow precipitate after dilution. Brownish-yellow precipitate with concentrated hydrochloric acid; dark-yellow precipitate with concentrated sodium hydroxide. Metal influence: Copper and iron ions will cause shade shift. Avoid copper-iron equipment during operation.

    Dyeing Properties

Good affinity for cellulosic substrates, optimum dyeing temperature 75-85℃. Fair levelness. Suitable for exhaust and jig dyeing..

    Main Application Fields

⚠️Prohibited for apparel, home-textile and skin-contact fabrics. Other industries: Mainly for pulp, carton paper, craft paper; leather colouring; manufacturing industrial ink and colour paste. Colour-mixing application: Used alone for reddish-golden-yellow tone, or blended with other industrial direct dyes for brown, khaki and other composite colours, for non-textile use only.

    Usage Method

Direct Yellow 24 shall only be applied for non-textile industrial colouring, NOT for textile fabrics.

    1. Key Dyeing Process Points

Dye characteristics: Good dye uptake, fair levelness. Neutral-weak-alkaline bath; maximum affinity at 75-85℃. Sensitive to hard water; water softener is recommended. Operation points: Raise temperature gradually, add sodium chloride or sodium sulphate in portions for exhaustion. Cool down afterwards for better exhaustion and uneven-colour prevention. Fastness improvement: Fixing agent treatment can be adopted as required to enhance washing fastness.

    2. Application Scope

Non-textile uses: Pulp & paper, leather dyeing, industrial ink & colour-paste preparation. Strictly forbidden for garment and home-textile fabrics.
