    Product Characteristics

Tracid Brilliant Blue 6B is a uniform powder of deep blue to blue-violet color with red light, without lumps or impurities.

    Basic Physical and Chemical Properties

    1. Color Characteristics: The aqueous solution of Tracid Brilliant Blue 6B shows extremely bright and vivid red light blue (colorful blue), with full and pure color light.

    2. Dissolution Properties: Tracid Brilliant Blue 6B is insoluble in cold water, slightly soluble in hot water (80-90°C), the aqueous solution is clear; it is slightly soluble in ethanol and appears bright blue; it is insoluble in organic solvents such as acetone, ether, and benzene.

    3. Ion Nature: Strong anionic type, acid blue 83 combines with protein fibers through ionic bonds, suitable for weakly acidic baths (pH 4-6).

    4. Acid-Base Stability: Stable in weakly acidic to neutral conditions; when exposed to concentrated alkali (NaOH), it turns purple and precipitates.

    5. Metal Ion Resistance: Acid blue 83 is sensitive to copper and iron ions; when exposed to iron, the color light becomes darker, and when exposed to copper, the color light becomes reddish.

    6. Heat Stability: Good, stable at 90-95°C during dyeing, does not decompose at high temperatures.

    7. Oxidation Resistance: Tracid Brilliant Blue 6B is resistant to common oxidants, but not to strong reducing agents.

Dyeing Performance and Application Points (Production Process Special)

    1. Applicable Fibers: Suitable for dyeing and direct printing of wool, silk, and nylon (nylon); mixed textiles of wool/silk and wool/nylon.

    2. Dyeing Process: Weakly acidic bath (pH 4-6, adjusted with acetic acid / ammonium sulfate), enter dyeing at 40-50°C, heat up to 90-95°C and maintain for 30-40 minutes.

    3. Dyeing Characteristics:

    1. Uniformity: Good, the dyeing process is gentle, and color bleeding is not likely.

    2. Affinity: High, the dyeing rate on protein fibers is > 85%.

    3. Color Matching: Acid blue 83 can be combined with acid yellow, orange to produce deep green, dark blue; with acid red to produce purple, black.

    4. Wet Fastness: Excellent (water washing 4-5 grades, sweat staining 4-5 grades), it is a mainstream product of Tracid Brilliant Blue 6B.

    5. Cross-domain Applications:

    1. Leather: Shoe leather, clothing leather, high-hardness bright blue coloring for fur.

    2. Papermaking: Cultural paper, decorative paper, cigarette paper, card paper coloring.

    3. Biological Dyeing: Karmasol Blue R250, used for protein electrophoresis gel staining (classic protein dyeing agent).

    4. Others: Water-based ink, wood, bamboo products, soap, detergent coloring.

    Common Precautions

    1. Precise Color Light Distinction: Tracid Brilliant Blue 6B is a red light vivid blue color, significantly different from acid lake blue A (green light blue) and acid blue 9 (pure greenish blue). When purchasing, it is necessary to verify the C.I. number and color light samples.
    2. Water Quality and Metal Ions: Tracid Brilliant Blue 6B must be used with soft water / deionized water. During dyeing, EDTA chelating agent must be added to prevent the color light from becoming darker and reddish due to copper and iron ions.
    3. Dissolution Method: Acid blue 83 is fully dissolved in 80-90°C hot water and then added to the dye bath after cooling to the dyeing temperature to avoid lumps caused by direct cold water addition.
    4. Compatibility and Fixation: Acid blue 83 can be combined with all weakly acidic / acid dyes; it is strictly prohibited to be in the same bath with cationic dyes (precipitation); the wet fastness is excellent, generally no fixation is required, and the sunfastness is medium, which can be improved by adding UV absorbers.
    5. Special for Biological Dyeing: For protein electrophoresis, a high-purity (HPLC ≥ 70%) reagent-grade product must be selected to avoid impurities affecting the clarity of dyeing.
    6. Storage and Use: Seal and prevent moisture. After lumps form, crush and dissolve in hot water. This does not affect use; expired dyes should be tested for color light and solubility before use.
